Google Bard

Part 2 of 4

Welcome back!

This is the second week of my four-part series using Google Bard. As a logistics and supply chain professional, I provide weekly updates on my experience with a new AI tool every month.

Here’s what you can expect to learn this week.

  • Updating privacy settings.

  • How to quickly stay on top of industry news every week to keep your suppliers, customers, and colleagues informed.

  • Analyzing earnings calls and financial reports.

But, before we start, I would like to note that the advancements in AI are rushing forward fast, and it’s challenging to keep up. I’ll do my best to keep up, but you must dive head first to avoid getting left behind. Now is the time.

Enough of that; let’s jump in!

Updating Bard’s privacy settings.

1.) Select the highlighted clock icon on the top right.

2.) Turn off Bard activity (unless you want Google to collect your data, location, etc.)

3.) Select “Turn off”

This should keep your data private from the Google developers, but only time will tell if this is actually the case.

Potential Supply Chain and Logistics Use Cases:

1. Quickly summarize industry news events in bulk to have more informed conversations with suppliers, customers, and colleagues (this is what Bard does best, in my opinion).

2.) After receiving the news, I will ask Bard to compose an email of 150 words that updates my suppliers about the ongoing events that are impacting the chemical industry (Voila!! Value added)

Analyzing earnings calls and financial reports. This is where Bard excels, IMO.

Bard has made it incredibly easy to summarize and pull quotes from earnings calls because it leverages Google. Let’s look at how easy it is to access and translate an earnings call.

  • If the earnings call has the transcript published, I can have Bard access it through Google, summarize it, and even pull out specific quotes.

If you change, everything changes for you
